Egyptian Mau cats are small to medium sized cats weighing 6-9 pounds (2.7-4.1 kg). They are the only naturally occurring spotted cat, which is the result of coloring on the tips of its hair. Their fur is short and silky. Their coats can be blue, black, blue-silver, and blue smoke

Egyptian Mau cats have muscular bodies, protruding ears, and large green eyes. They have a tapering tail that is banded.

Egyptian Mau cats are very active cats, intelligent cats that get into cupboards and turn on water facets to play in the water. While they are highly attached to one person and friendly to everyone in the family, they are wary of strangers.

These cats play fetch and love to sit on your shoulders or lap. When they are happy they even wag their tail, chortle, and kneed.

Other: Mau is the Egyptian word for cat.
